The SubCorner experiment...48 drivers in two boxes!
This project/experiment was also carried out in Ole's finished Home Theatre

SubCorner with the 48 pieces cheap Vifa 6,5", which were bought at a fair some years back

The first "SubCorner" being assembled

Ole is giving the "SubCorners" the first paint

The "SubCorners" has been moved to his garage, where they will get the final finish.
His old home-made cinema screen leaning against the left wall

A view from the entrance into Ole's Home Theatre - it's optimized for viewing movies = very dark
New screen size is tested - I think he is satisfied and soon he'll take the next step - a real screen
All the SubCorner drivers placed under the screen ready for assembly

A view towards the back of the Theatre - notice Ole's new projector a JVC HD-1 upgrade from Hitachi.
6 pieces Jamo D590 speakers and Dali center loudspeaker
- and 2 pieces Jamo D6 subwoofers one with a faulty amp. We might have a solution ... the SubCorners.
Time will show how they performe with some Ground Sound power.
And how about 8 pieces Stresslees Arion Theatre chairs? Nice I would say

Shelves with a lot of DVDs in a seperate room

All lined up for assembly - 48 pcs. 6,5" drivers equal 6 pcs 15" membrane area!
The drivers is coupled 3 in series = 18Ω and two sets of these in parrallel per
contact set of a SpeakOn 8-pol = 9Ω. The amplifier is powering either one set
of speakers or two sets (4,5Ω) and ecah driver get approxdimately 50W

Thomas and Ole fitting the last "few" drivers - eager for the Grand Finale

The SubCorners are up and running with two of our Chassis 1503 a total of 3000W - this combination should be capable of moving the air - BUT:
The 3000 watts are a waste of power - the aim was a subwoofer capable of delivering substantial SPL in
the region 20Hz - 80Hz in this closed box. The closed box delivers very nice tight bass and has a lot of capability
in the upper bass region, but this box doesn't have what it takes for a sub in this kind of Home Theatre...!

This is the measurement of the SubCorner with heavy filtering: HighPass 15Hz - 96dB/oct. + LowPass 30Hz - 24dB/oct.
A quick view of the graph tell us that the goal wasn't reached - not a real subwoofer. Next time it will be some serious
big drivers - 18" or 21" and may the 48 pcs. 6,5" rest in peace...

The boys are relaxing...who can blame them - nice chairs
